Your Care & Comfort is Our #1 Concern

Here at the Advanced Therapeutic Centre, nothing is more important to us than your care and comfort.

We understand that you may have suffered with pain for many months, years or even decades – and that you may have tried many treatments, remedies and methods with little or limited success.

Rest assured that when you join our patient family, you can expect our experienced, knowledgeable and caring Acute and Chronic Pain Management Specialists to:

  • Quickly, accurately and thoroughly identify the root causes (also known as "contributing factors") of your pain and injury.
  • Focus on eliminating your pain and healing your injury via state-of-the-art treatments and therapies, which are based in medical science and clinical research.
  • Help you return to your regular activities as soon as possible – whether that's shopping for groceries or training for marathons.
  • Ensure that your injuries don't recur in the future, and that you enjoy the happy, healthy and pain-free life you deserve!

About Your First Visit

Many patients ask us what their first visit to our Centre will be like. While every patient is a unique individual and we never take a "one-size-fits-all" approach to treatment and care, generally speaking here is what you can expect when you arrive for your first appointment:

  1. Consultation: we'll invest quality time to conduct a thorough consultation, so that we understand the unique nature and mechanical aspects of your pain and injury.
  2. Physical Examination: we'll conduct a complete physical exam, in order to assess the areas that are causing or experiencing pain and injury, and further identify any predisposing weaknesses that are harming you now – or could harm you in the future.
  3. Education: we'll instruct and educate you -- without any confusing "medical jargon" -- on what you can do to help speed up your healing and rehabilitation, such as the correct way to ice an inflamed area, why your muscles and tendons need to stay hydrated, and more.

About Your Overall Treatment

Your specific pain treatment and injury recovery plan will be personalized by our Acute and Chronic Pain Management Specialists to meet your unique needs and goals. Generally, however, there are three phases to the overall treatment process: Pain Relief, Restore Function and Rehabilitation.

Phase 1 - Pain Relief: We work relieve your pain as quickly as possible through any state-of-the-art treatment methods, which can include: Chiropractic, Manual Therapy, Acupuncture, Laser Therapy, ART® or Soft Tissue Therapy, and other medically tested and clinically proven options. The "right" treatment depends on the nature of your injury (i.e. whether it's acute or chronic), and the number of treatments in this phase can range from 1-5.

Phase 2 - Restore Function: While we work to reduce and eliminate your pain, we also focus on treating any weaknesses, torsion, muscle imbalances or fascia that we identified in your Physical Examination (see above). We help your muscles at the injured area to contract in sequence, so that the muscles begin to work properly. Our goal is to restore your functionality to normal, and help you enjoy easier movement and an increased range of motion.

Phase 3 – Rehabilitation: Ending pain and restoring functionality are important – but they're only part of the puzzle. We also want to help you avoid re-injury, and so in Phase 3 we focus on increasing the proper movement patterns and strengthening of your muscles in the injured area, so that the daily activities you perform tomorrow, next week or even years from now won't trigger re-injury – and cause more pain.

It's All About YOU

As you'll personally experience from your very first visit, right through to the end of your treatment when you're stronger, healthier and pain-free, everything that we do is built around YOU.

And that's not just a promise we make. As the men, women, boys and girls in our patient family would want you to know, it's a commitment we proudly keep – without compromise!

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about becoming a patient. If you have additional questions or wish to schedule your consultation, please call us at 416-361-9900.

You can also speed-up the process by downloding a Patient Intake Form, which you can print, complete and bring to your initial visit.
