NIS Programs

Physiotherapy Treatment

What is NIS Program?

NIS Program is not a technique. It is a complete system that employs neurological processes. NIS Program assesses the body as an integrated being- that is, that all the systems in our body are related to each other and do not work in isolation. NIS Program tunes up all your systems so you function better. This is similar to a tune up for a car. The car functions better.

What Does NIS Program Treat?

NIS treats chronic health conditions including anxiety, depression, ABS, ADD and sleep problems. NIS Program is a facilitation system using the "brain" as a "clearing house" to restore optimum function to all body systems. With this optimum function, the symptoms of ill health and disease can be resolved.

What Is NIS Programs NIS?

Healthcare with NIS Program's® Neurological Integration System(NIS)has everything to do with the brain and nothing to do with the mind. It is important to make that differentiation. All the principles behind this system of treatment are based in neuroscience.

NIS bases its treatment methods on the neurophysiology principle that the brain governs optimum function of all the body systems. This in essence makes the brain, not the practitioner, the most knowledgeable and qualified to diagnose and correct patient's complaints. Practitioners using NIS in their practice will be evaluating them to investigate the status of all your body's function (glands, organs muscles, tendons, ligaments) as they work together - from the neurological point of view.

The brain controls optimum function, through its neurological circuitry. It is constantly receiving information from every facet of the body, and in turn sends back ‘fine tuning' messages, many times per second. This means every cell, gland, organ, muscle, tendon etc in the body is constantly monitored via these circuits to the brain.

When each of us were born, we were born with a DNA template unique to each of us. That template determines 'normal' and optimum function. The brain operates within the parameters of that template. The parameters of that template represent our individual tolerances. Muscles, glands, tendons, ligaments etc all have tolerances. The tolerances of one person are very different to those of the next. When the body ‘breaks down' – physically, pathologically, chemically or emotionally, this means that there are tolerances that have been exceeded. Now symptoms of pain and illness start. There is now some body function that is working at a lowered potential.

NIS uses a set of prioritised treatment protocols that assess the function of all the body's systems, and all the factors that have or could translate themselves to symptoms. These protocols will identify aspects of physiology that are not functioning to the potential of the respective individual.

In evaluating the function of the body's systems from a neurological point of view, this means the underlying CAUSES of symptoms are being addressed and not the symptoms themselves. NIS Program's NIS leverages the brain's profound ability to restore the body and all its systems to full potential.

The Brain Must Be In Control Of ALL Body Functions

  1. Resolve the real underlying causes of pain, ill-health and disease
  2. To get sustainable result for complaints
  3. To get the body back working at optimum potential as it should be for that individual

Why Does The Body Break Down In The First Place?

The human body is born with maximum tolerances. One principle of neurophysiology is, the brain operates within a set of parameters, dictated by the unique DNA of each of us. When all body systems functionwithinour individual ‘template' of parameters we have great health.

From time to time stresses cause our individual tolerances to be exceeded. They can be physical, pathological, chemical or emotional. This is when the body will start to show symptoms of pain and/or illness. An exceeded threshold may be thought of as a broken circuit. The brain is no longer in full ‘communication' with certain facets of function. What happens now is the body endeavours to compensate.

These thresholds are essentially thresholds of stress. The meaning of stress, and how each individual reacts to it varies. How it affects our individual health will vary. Our tolerance levels to the same stresses are different. Therefore what is stressful for you to the extent of affecting your health will be completely different for the person next to you. That is why some people will always be bound to catch the latest bug that is going around, when another person can be subject to the same environment and never catch it.

What NIS Is NOT About

  •  NOT a technique
  •  Is NOT kinesiology, cranial osteopathy
  •  Is NOT stressful to the body
  •  Is NOT…an alternative medicine modality
  •  Does NOT involve the mind
  •  Does NOT involve manipulation or invasive procedures
  •  Does NOT require drugs, special diets or homework exercises to be effective

What Complaints Does NIS Help?

Will address the neurophysiological reasons behind the spectrum of complaints. This list is only a guideline to the broad areas we assess. Remember...because NISis assessing and addressing the optimum function of all bodys systems, there are few things that will be excluded.

  • Structural – joint, tendon, ligament, muscle and spinal pain/restriction. Nerve entrapment
  • Trauma/accident associated - closed head injury, paralysis
  • Learning & behavioural difficulties – ADD/ADHD/Dyslexia, memory recall, concentration, co-ordination, reading, speech, frustration/self-esteem. (Adults and children)
  • Pathological (Infection based) – viral, bacterial and fungal. Includes all issues relating to the immune system.
  • Fertilityand miscarriage (both male and female)
  • Hormonal (both male and female)
  • Mental and emotional disorders - depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, panic attacks, bi-polar disorder
  • Skin disorders - excema, psoriasis, acne
  • Digestive System - resulting in sinus and mucous issues
  • Migraine
  • Eyes -
  • Allergies - both food and chemical toxicity, hayfever
  • Auto-immune
  • Insomnia – poor sleeping patterns
  • Heart and Cholesterol - blood pressure, venous and arterial supply
  • Chronic Fatigue/Fybromyalgia
  • Poor organ function – bowel, liver, bladder, etc.
  • Stress-related illnesses
  • Respiratory (asthma)
